The rapid development of electric vehicles, electric light vehicles, large-scale energy storage, consumer electronics, power tools, electric agricultural machinery, unmanned aerial vehicles, medical electronics, intelligent equipment, 5G base stations, emergency power supplies and other fields has put forward higher requirements for the energy density, magnification characteristics, recyclability, high safety, high and low temperature characteristics of secondary electrochemical batteries not represented by lithium batteries. The use of batteries under multi-operating conditions faces important challenges, and the attenuation of battery performance during storage and use further exacerbates the severity, with multiple failure characteristics and multiple failure behaviors.

 

Battery failure analysis, as the name suggests, is to find the cause of the performance decay and failure of the battery, with the purpose of completely deconstructing various phenomena in the battery. Failure in the battery field is aimed at the battery in the use or storage process will appear a certain probability of failure, failure may occur in all stages of the product life cycle, involving product research and development design, material inspection, processing and manufacturing, test screening, client use, accident diagnosis and other links, embodiment of the form includes capacity attenuation, short cycle life, increased internal resistance, voltage abnormalities, lithium / sodium, gas production, leakage, short circuit, deformation, thermal runaway and other phenomena, which will seriously reduce the use of battery performance, consistency, Reliability and safety. By analyzing the samples of process waste defects, early failures, experimental failures, pilot failures and on-site failures, the failure mode is confirmed and the failure mechanism is analyzed Analyzing the failure mechanism, clarifying the failure causes, and giving prevention and improvement strategies will significantly reduce or avoid the recurrence of failure. Failure analysis is an effective method for product design, process verification / improvement, product improvement and improving product quality. It plays an important guiding role in product R & D, design, production and use.
